We began our beekeeping venture at the Royal Johannesburg Golf Club in July 2022 under the guidance of Chris Bentley. Since then, we've made great strides in preserving local bee populations and producing high-quality honey.

Highlights of our journey include:

• Successfully tagging and safely relocating approximately 15 wild bee colonies from their natural habitats.

• Establishing 4 dedicated apiaries around the golf course for optimal hive placement.

• Engaging the community with weekly social media updates and monthly journals to share our progress.

• Carrying out 14 successful bee removals, ensuring safe relocation and protection for both bees and property.

• Producing over 100kg of honey, a true testament to the thriving bee population at Royal Johannesburg.

Our work continues to focus on promoting the health of local bees, supporting sustainable beekeeping practices, and providing our community with fresh, local honey.
